Hand to Hand Combat

Got a time crunch? Want to get the most out of a limited amount of training time? Our Combo Class is designed to do just that.

Combo Class will allow you to achieve your maximum fitness level and provide you with some rudimentary self-defense skills against the most common types of street attacks.

This class is structured from three of our outstanding programs. In an hour long class, twice a week, you will recieve Kettlebell training, heavy bag work, and the basic elements of our Street Tactics Program.

A great class as a stand alone program or in conjunction with any of our other programs.

At The Defense Institute, this is our signature program.

Born in New York City, the Vee-Arnis-Jitsu System is often called the "System of Systems." Students will receive training in V-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Arnis, Jujitsu, Judo, Wing Chun, Boxing, Wrestling, and the dirty street fighting tactics that make them all work in a real situation.

Vee-Arnis-Jitsu is one of the original mixed martial arts. The focus of the training has always been, and will always be, street tactics. We don't play by the rules and we don't do things for show. Down and dirty training for the situations you may have to deal with on the streets is what this program is all about.

We don't believe carrying and utilizing weapons makes you the bad guy in a situation, it makes you the smart one. Edged and Impact Weapons tactics are taught right from the beginning of your training. Why? They are an automatic equalizer with minimal training.

The smallest female, with a little proper edged weapons training, is more than capable of defending herself should the need arise.

"Laziness will cause you pain."

Verbal assaults, physical assaults, multiple attackers, mugging situations, if it happens out there we teach you how to handle it in here. Strikes, throws, takedowns, chokes, holds, and breaks are all a part of this section of our training.

Our hand to hand skills are designed to give you three options in a real attack situation; run, deploy a weapon, and/or use one of our joint manipulation techniques to control or punish your assailant. These tactics are all designed so that a much smaller person can deal with a much larger, more aggressive attacker.

Whether you are staring down the barrel of a gun, pinned against the wall with a knife to your throat, or someone at your friendly neighborhood softball game gets carried away and threatens you with a bat, our Street Tactics Program's got you covered.

Weapon on weapon or weapon on empty hand we will teach you to deal with it quickly and effectively. Understanding our concept of "the Five Angles of Attack" takes the fear out of dealing with a weapon weilding assailant.
